Coaching Approach
MLS Consulting, LLC offers leadership coaching services for individuals, groups, and teams. With 20+ years of experience in coaching, Marcy designs each engagement to address client needs, achieve action-oriented goals, and provide a supportive framework in which clients are encouraged to learn, grow, and develop.
Marcy’s foundation for all coaching is:
- Appreciative: recognizing strengths and limitations are always at play
- Developmental: learning and growing is essential – change is expected
- Grounded in emotional intelligence: developing awareness and abilities to use emotions to impact thoughts, decisions, and behavior
- Strengths-based: identifying and leveraging existing abilities and capacities while recognizing and managing challenges and weaknesses
- Time limited: engagements with renewable options (3-, 6-, 9-month contracts)
Coaching engagements may:
- Be in person, hybrid, or virtual
- Utilize assessments (CliftonStrengths, DiSC, TetraMap, LPI, etc.)
- Be one-on-one or in small groups
Sample Coaching Engagements
While each engagement is designed to address the unique goals, needs, and interests of the clients, the following designs are typically employed.
One-On-One
Individual coaching for individuals along the spectrum of their career development. Regular meetings, usually every 2-3 weeks, for the duration of the engagement keep the work flowing. Clients include: emerging leaders, mid-level managers, senior leaders, and executive leaders from across sectors as well as other leadership or management coaches.
Leadership Teams
Many organizations recognize the power of team coaching for intact senior and executive leadership teams. This design enables and strengthens the individual members of the team as well as develop the culture and practices of the leadership team. Clients include: senior and executive leaders within an organization (either business, higher education, or non-profit organizations).
Small Group Coaching
Group coaching for job-alikes from different organizations or for participants at the same level in the same organization derive great value in the peer-to-peer learning that occurs in small groups. Individuals benefit from the structured and supportive environment where similar challenges and opportunities are shared among participants who have different specific responsibilities yet share a similar position/role in an organization. Clients include: middle-level management from the same organization and executive directors from across the non-profit sector.
